Spring Internship (Teacher/Organic Gardener) 1 position

|
Plan and lead gardening and environmental education activities for spring and early summer youth programs |
|
|
Assist in development of summer earth camp scheduling |
|
|
Assist with planting, cultivating and harvesting in youth organic gardens |
|
|
Assist with the direction and support of volunteers |
Qualifications:
|
Desire to work with youth in an Earth-friendly environment |
|
|
Desire and ability to work around small farm animals with children |
|
|
Ability to perform outdoor physical labor |
|
|
Previous leadership experience with children or environmental education preferred |
|
|
Previous experience with organic gardening helpful |
|
|
Completion of sophomore year of college (minimum) |

Responsibilities:
| Assisting the farm staff with planting, maintenance, and harvesting for the Foodbank Farm, CSA and Farmer's Market | |
| Assist with packing, shipping, and preparation of harvested crops for distribution | |
| Help coordinate the efforts of volunteers, work groups, and CSA members who are working on the farm | |
| Help interpret the farm programs to visitors, guests and volunteers | |
| Assist with other tasks as needed |
Qualifications:
| Knowledge of and experience with organic vegetable growing techniques | |
| Ability to perform outdoor physical labor | |
| Skills and desire to relate with volunteers, children, and other staff in a team situation | |
| Openness to work in an environment which connects spirituality and ecological responsibility |
