Outdoor Labyrinth

The Crown Point outdoor Labyrinth offers a quiet retreat from the stressful pace of daily activities. The labyrinth is open to the public every day (except for holidays) during daylight hours. It is located to the left of the red equipment shed at the top of Crown Point's gravel driveway. The entrance to the labyrinth is marked by a small green mailbox on a post.

A Sacred Place

Crown Point's Labyrinth is a replica of the design laid into the floor of Chartres Cathedral in France around 1220. The labyrinth is a sacred circular pattern used as a symbo of our life journey. As a tool for spiritual centeredness, it is a pilgrimage, a journey to the Divine.

An expanse of sky and Earth characterizes Crown Point's meadow labyrinth. Here amid broad horizons, one is made aware of the boundaries, the edges, the meeting places of existence. The labyrinth's boundaries visibly mark this sacred space. In dedicating this space for inner work, we acknowledge the sacredness of Earth, the unity of all creation, and the importance of The Journey. We hope you find a path for your feet to follow; a way leading to the divine mystery.

What others have written after visiting the Crown Point Labyrinth:

" Thank you so much for providing this beautiful place of worship. I feel at peace. I am grateful for my many blessings. The flowers are incredibly beautiful."

"I walked the path with my husband as a celebration of our 30th wedding anniversary. I immediately found a four-leaf clover. To me this was a sign of blessing for our relationship. It was a very special walk."

"I'm trying to flamboozle that sneaky archenemy depression. I walked the labyrinth in the sun and absorbed the light. Depression is dark, but the sun bathed me in light. Here's to joy!"

"I walked the labyrinth today in honor of my friend Gary who had brain and shoulder surgery recently. In the center of the labyrinth I realized that this obstacle is just a new beginning for him. I walked on top of dandelions and they are still strong and beautiful. Life is fragile but we can be strong."

"I just attempted to shed city life and leave it in the labyrinth to pick up again if I ever need it. Sometimes it is a challenge to just 'be'. I'm doing my best to not take the 'now' for granted."

"Everytime I walk the labyrinth I am amazed by its strong energy. The center seems so far away, but you finally arrive when you least expect it. Thank you for the gift of this place and the reminder to just follow the path."
