Announcing
Lessons on the Land 2010
An enriching and engaging day camp for explorers ages 6-11 years old.

Join the Crown Point Science Investigators
and explore
People on the Land
Delve deep into the history of Crown Point. Investigate how people have lived in harmony with the land through the ages. Follow your food from the field to your plate! Celebrate the life of a farmer as you work and play at Crown Point Ecology Center.
Come and explore the farm from field to forest, barns, gardens and pond. Along the way, you'll harvest and prepare food for daily snacks, play team-building games and even learn how to set-up and run a children's farm market!
Through investigation activities and unlimited discovery you'll learn how plants, animals and people grow and change in a farm community.
The 4th season of the Summer Farm and Science Camp offers an opportunity for children to investigate the natural cycles of plants, animals and people on a farm through interdisciplinary, problem-solving activities.
Crown Point's 130-acre center is a living classroom that awakens children's sense of wonder through activities and games rooted in ecology, art, math, music, and language arts.

haven’t had before”
“My daughter wanted to sign up for the entire summer after the first day!”
“Excellent process from registration to closing”
“Our daughter enjoyed the calm and quiet of getting to know the land and
farming. She came home and recreated the children’s marketplace. She used
all the produce she brought home, made signs, and our family spent the evening
repeatedly going to market. What a great learning experience for her! This
week’s camp was voted the ‘best’ by her”
“The children from the Boys and Girls Club really benefit from
any activity that will positively affect their interaction with peers or adults while
listening and learning new things from kids and adults as well.”
“The kids shared with other kids at the Boys & Girls Club what they had done and
learned at Farm School.”
“Wonderful program! Instructors are lovely, warm, kind and enthusiastic.”
“Children gained knowledge in the amount of work it takes to
grow a garden and the importance of trying new things and
working with others.”
